Pastor Dennis and Charlene Cagle
Dennis and Charlene Cagle were married on May 2, 1981. Dennis is a native of Cleveland TN and Charlene is a native of Madisonville TN. Dennis entered pastoral ministry in November 1987 serving as Sr. Pastor of congregations in East Tennessee and St. Louis Missouri. He also served as Director of Missions for Grainger Baptist Association, Rutledge TN.
He attended Cleveland State Community College, Liberty University. He is a graduate of Covington Theological Seminary where he received a Master of Ministry, and the Institute of Theological Studies where he received a Master of Theology.
Pastor Dennis is committed to challenging the Christless and encouraging the Christian through the preaching ministry. Pastor Dennis began serving as Sr. Pastor of Vonore Baptist Church April 25, 2010.
Jerry Thompson, Interim Worship Leader
Jerry Thompson is a native of McMinn County TN and is well-known throughout the U.S. as a singer, arranger, and songwriter. He has written numerous songs such as; “Son Go Bring Your Children Home.” Jerry came to Vonore Baptist Church in May 2010 as Interim Worship Leader. Many titles have been used over the years to identify this important staff position… “Minister of Music” and “Choir Director” being the most common. We use the title “Worship Leader” believing that this person should be the “Lead Worshipper” in our midst. When this is accomplished we are drawn into a climate of intimate worship which has been called “therapy for the soul.” Please come and share in the worship experience as Christ is exalted through music.
